More pictures...

Here are some more pictures that we received today...

Here comes the bride! :)

During the ceremony... (Isn't that veil great?? Kristi's mom made it and it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!)

During Teresa's song (which sounded amazing, by the way!), we decided to go back and hug our parents while she was singing. That was cool!

Lighting our unity candle... I really liked our candle. It was a cylinder split in two with a larger ring that fits over it. It was designed to represent the individuals coming together and the ring was God binding us together. I'm sure I'll have a picture of it sometime. It was designed by Bill Dunk at GTO Ministries. It was very cool! :)

Our big exit from the church. Everyone threw rose petals at us! How fun! :)

We got married!

I'm finally getting some pictures back from the day. (I felt bad posting before I had a few pictures!) :)

Jason and I got married last Saturday! Here are a few pictures from the day.

Here I am...waiting for the taxi to arrive and take us to the gazebo for pictures. The taxi service was HORRIBLE for the day...most times we had to wait at least 25-30 minutes for a taxi to arrive. When you have places to be for a wedding, that's bad news! :) However, we were able to take some very cool pictures on Main St. while we waited for the next available taxi.

They thought it would be a great idea to get pictures of me walking up the stairs. Trust me, this looks more graceful than I felt!!! :)

Kristi and me...

Another angle...(any guesses on who sent me these pictures?? Haha!)

I don't know if you can tell from these pictures what the weather is doing, but at this point, it's cloudy but not raining. We had gotten a phone call the day before from the parks department saying that it was forecasted to rain the afternoon of our wedding and they offered us another place to get married. All other reports we heard were not forecasting rain, so we stuck with the original plan.

Of course, about 30 minutes after these pictures were taken, the heavens opened and it rained for the rest of the afternoon. :) (It's good luck for it to rain on your wedding day, right??)

We opted for Plan B and got married in a cute church on the main street. While it wasn't quite what we expected, it all worked out and we got married! :) I'll post more stories as I receive more pictures!

Here's a picture of Jason and me cutting our cake at the wedding reception. We had the reception at a restaurant on the island. They had everything set up BEAUTIFULLY and I think everyone had a good time! :) Oh, and this cake was AMAZING! Annie (of Annie's Cakes) did an incredible job on the cake...both decorating and baking! It was one of the best cakes I have ever eaten! We had three flavors: The bottom later was Red Velvet, the middle layer was traditional white, and the top layer was chocolate. YUM!

My last day at IWU...

There are many things that I will miss about working at IWU! I will certainly miss the friendships that I have with so many people! It's really hard to believe that this is my last day!

In honor of my last day, Al and I made "Super Coffee" one last time. Super Coffee is our own creation...and it's different every time! We basically take whatever flavors of coffee are laying around and mix them in different concentrations and brew it. I've never had bad Super Coffee! :)

Here we are with our cups of Super Coffee (you can't really see mine...:)).

And here we are with the Super Coffee Brewing Pot!

I'm sure as the day progresses, there will be more pictures! :)

More pictures!

I thought I should post some more pictures from vacation and Mackinac Island! We visited the island twice during the week. It's so pretty! We did get wedding plans pretty well finalized...and got to enjoy a bit of the trip too! :) Here are some pictures!

Our gazebo! With us in it!! Of course, the next time you see pictures of this gazebo and us in it, we'll be married!!! Only 8 more days!!!

There is a little footpath that goes out from behind the gazebo. If you follow it to the end, you get this beautiful view of the town! It doesn't hurt that the weather was perfect that day!!

This is Arch Rock. I'm not sure if there is a story behind it, but everyone on the island makes a pretty big deal about it, so Jason and I hiked across the island to find it. I have to admit, it was really pretty...and the water on that side of the island looked absolutely tropical! :)

See the water? :) (Ok...it's a cute picture all the way around! :))

A couple of days later, Jason and I went back to the island and took our bikes. After biking all the way AROUND the Grand Hotel, we found this overlook on the west side of the island. Very pretty! (And fun to bike...but I'm WAAAY out of shape!)

Vacation!

I love vacations!!

Last week, Jason and I went to Douglas Lake in northern Michigan with his family for a week of relaxation and lakeside fun! We had a great time...and even got to spend some time on Mackinac Island (we were only 20 minutes away!). Here are some pictures! :)

We are in the lake waiting to ski (or scoot...as I did! :)).

Jason is skiing!!! :)

Zach and Aunt "T" playing in the water! That kid LOVED the beach! :)

Jason and Zach having some Cheerios. How cute! :)

Us...at the end of our vacation! :)

I'll post some pictures of the island tomorrow!

By the way, only 2 more days at The Woo! :)

Bridal shower!

Here are some pictures from my bridal shower last weekend! We met at Bucca di Beppo in Indy! (YUM!)

I caught Sarah and Anna off-guard! :)

Kristi and Amanda...

Missy and Me. (She was SO excited that it was a great picture! LOL!)

Opening gifts... We got a lot of great things and some very pretty things too! Thanks, guys! :)

The whole group...and the Pope! :)

Date Night!

Jason and I have been going in several different directions for the past couple of weeks, so he asked me out on a date Wednesday night so we could spend some good quality time together!

We left his house around 5:30 Wednesday evening and headed west. I wasn't exactly sure what the plan was, but he seemed to have it under control, so off we went! We arrived in Kokomo...and I still had no idea where we were going for dinner. We pulled into the parking lot of the smaller mall and Jason had me close my eyes. He didn't want me to see where we were going. He drives for a bit...drives in some circles to completely disorient me and finally parks the truck. I still had to keep my eyes closed as he led me to the front of the restaurant. When he let me open my eyes, we were at....

CHUCK E. CHEESE'S!!!!

I have never been to Chuck E. Cheese before, so this is actually pretty exciting for me! We went inside and ordered our pizza and 40+ tokens. After a bazillion games of skee ball and a couple games of Whack-a-Lizard (we got high score!! :)), we had accumulated over 200 tickets! Of course, there weren't any fun prizes for 200 tickets, so we gave them to a bunch of kids who had their tickets counted after us. We didn't stick around to see what they got, but after we gave them our tickets, they had over 1200 tickets for a prize. Not too shabby!!

Here are some pictures from the day. :)

This is Jason eating pizza (of course!). :)

Jason tries his hand at the piano game...

We still have no idea what the goal of the game is, but Jason did win a ticket! (Some little girl came up after him and won 5 or 6 tickets! :))

Ticket counting time! :)

It certainly was a fun date! :)

Puppy dog!! :)

This is something that I have wanted dearly for such a long time! I was so excited when Jason called me yesterday and told me that his students brought in a stray dog. Jason volunteered to give him a temporary home. I got to meet the dog for the first time yesterday evening. WHAT A SWEETIE!!! :)

We decided to call the pup "Sawyer"...of course, you Lost fans will recognize the name. We gave him a bath, played, and cuddled with him. Sawyer seems happy just to curl up next to you while you read a book or take a nap. He's not loud, hyper, or bad mannered. What a great little guy!

*sigh/smile* I'm going to go see the pup again! :)

Well, it seems it is finally time to start a blog of my own! :) With so many changes going on right now, it just makes sense to try to keep everyone updated this way!

So let me give you a quick recap up till now. :)

I am recently engaged and will be getting married in August on beautiful Mackinac Island! I'm super excited about this! :) We are getting married in an outdoor ceremony in a gazebo on top of the island. Here are some pictures:

Beautiful, huh? We have lots of fantastic things planned! It will be a truly wonderful day!

Beyond that, we found out a few weeks ago that Jason received a teaching job at the high school in Wauseon, OH (his hometown), so we will also be moving to Ohio in August. I'm glad he has a job because I still have no clue what I will be doing! :) I've talked to a few people and still need to talk to others. I'd appreciate your prayers on this!

I'm nearly finished with my MBA! (Woohoo!) In fact, I'm sitting in class right now writing this post. :) Our last class date is September 25th and I will graduate in December. I'm really looking forward to having free time again!

Well, I think that's all for tonight! I've got some fun pictures on my work computer that I'll try to remember to post tomorrow. :)
